No compassion: 25-year-old man burnt to death for murdering a 70-year-old woman
For allegedly killing a senior citizen in her farm at Apaaso in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region, a 25-year-old man was set ablaze.
On Sunday, July 9, 2023, some angry youngsters are reported to have lynched and burned the culprit, who was only known as Papa Yaw, after learning that he had murdered one madam Veronica Ampofowaa on her farm.
“Anty Ampofowaa came to me early Sunday morning and reported that, Papa Yaw had destroyed some food items from her farm and so wanted us to go and witness the incident,” said a resident, Mr. Kwabena Gyamfi, who saw the deed.
On the way, the decease took the lead while the witness went to call another friend to accompany them to the farm.
When they reached the farm, the 70-year-old woman was nowhere to be found.
After thorough search in the farm, they found her lifeless body with multiple machete wounds.
The suspect cut deep the decease stomach, exposing her intestines.
The 25 years old suspect is on the run after the heinous act.
The body of the decease has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy and preservation.
