Ama, 38, butchered to death by her husband

A 38-year-old man identified as Atta has allegedly butchered his wife, Ama Gifty to death after an argument in Wassa Wiredukrom in the Western Region.
Information gathered revealed that, for the past two months the suspect and the victim had been quarreling which usually ended in fights.
On Sunday, June 11th, the suspect and the victim were again involved in a fight that compelled Gifty into spending the night at her friend’s home.
On Monday morning, June 12th, Ama Gifty who was a market woman decided to return home to pick up her wares for the market.
Upon her return, she realized their two children had already left for school, only to find her husband, Atta seated in a corner of the room looking tensed which was unusual of him. This did not fit into the norm where Atta usually left the house for the farm very early in the morning.
According to reports, the victim went ahead to pick up the items she needed for the market but suddenly, Atta pounced on her and butchered her to death.
Afterward, when he tried to escape from the room, all attempts to open the door proved futile hence he cut through the mesh and nets of the window of the house and fled before neighbours could arrive on the scene.
The Wassa Manso Police have therefore declared Atta wanted and have launched a search party to find the suspect and bring him to book.
