Western North: Suspected Thief Lynched At Bibiani
Unknown persons have lynched a suspected thief at Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The deceased is believed to be in his late 40’s.
In the early hours of Sunday, June 4, 2023, the lifeless body was found lying in between Hwenampire and Ntwikumye on Bibiani to Sefwi Bekwai Highways.
Some of the residents who rushed to the scene claimed they awoke to discover the deceased’s motionless body, adding that it’s good that he has been killed because thieves have been disturbing their peace.
Hon. Adam Smith, the Assembly member of Hwenampire electoral area, said they are not surprised by the incident as they have been experiencing a series of robbery cases in recent times.
However, she claimed that he smells foul play in this particular situation because there were no indications that someone was struggling at the scene.
“We have decided that if we arrest any thief, we won’t handle him to the police. We beat him seamlessly” he added.
The police have since conveyed the mortal remains of the victim to the hospital for further investigation.
