Habitual criminal lynched at Mwanakhu community
A suspected habitual criminal, Patrick Kalawa has been killed by an angry mob at Mwanakhu trading centre in Mulanje for allegedly stealing a bag of maize.
The incident happened last night.
Mulanje police spokesperson, Sergeant Innocent Moses confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Moses, the man aged 23 was released from jail in 2022. He was also arrested on 6 April, 2023 for theft, but was released on court bail.
Kalawa was from Dante village in the area of Traditional Authority Nkanda in Mulanje district.
