Asante Mampong: Man, 24, commits suicide
A 24-year-old man identified as Malik reportedly took his own life at Atonsuagya, in the Asante Mampong Municipal of the Ashanti Region, on Wednesday, April 26.
According to the Assemblyman for the area, David Awuni, the young man shot himself with a gun, which reportedly belonged to his father.
It is believed that Malik placed the gun on a wall and pulled the trigger, with the bullet striking him in the chest.
Malik’s father discovered his son in a pool of blood after hearing the gunshot.
The deceased had interacted with his father after returning from the farm, parked the motorbike, and entered his room.
The father stated that he did not hear from his son again until he heard the gunshot.
It remains unclear what caused the incident, but details emerging indicate that the deceased was worried about his epileptic condition and had always isolated himself from others.
The incident has shocked the community, and the police have launched an investigation into the matter.
