Passover is a Test of Trials for Christians – Prophet N’Akoa Jamson Reveals
The founder and leader of Isreal King of Jews church , Prophet N’Akoa Jamson Ansah has described Passover as Test of trials for Jews as well as Christians.
According to him, the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem occurred as Jesus entered the city to celebrate Passover. The Last Supper, before Jesus was arrested and put to death, was a Passover meal.
Prophet N’Akoa, however, explained that, Jesus’s last supper was either the Passover meal (according to Matthew, Mark and Luke) or a meal just before Passover with Passover traditions informing the evening (John). And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
Passover is an important Jewish holiday celebrated in remembrance of God’s deliverance of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt. Christians have largely abandoned the practice for several reasons, most notably in favor of instead celebrating Jesus’ deliverance from sin, but there is still much for Christians to learn from Passover.
He made this revelation at N’Akoa Jamson made the call at the celebration of this year’s Passover of the church at Dome in Accra on Thursday on the theme “Deliverance and the Total Liberation of the Israelites.”
Prophet N’Akoa said the Passover commemorates the way the Jews were spared from the plagues and other painful experiences through the manifestation of God’s power through Moses as against pharaoh and his sorceress.
Passover occurs the 15-21 of the Jewish month of Nissan, which is in March or April by our calendar. On these seven days, the Israelites were to eat nothing with leaven in it, to symbolize the haste with which the Hebrews left Egypt. Whiles in Ghana we celebrate it every Easter .
A traditional Passover meal constitutes fire-roasted lamb, bitter herbs, and unleavened bread, according to God’s directives (Exodus 12:8). Once Israel reached the Promised Land, they were to travel to Jerusalem each year to celebrate the Passover.
