NPP grassroots members warn party executives never to make the mistake again by turning a party program into a Bawumia event
Members of the NPP grassroots who took part in the Unity Walk of the at Kwahu in the Eastern Region have expressed their disgust at the National Executives for turning an otherwise beautiful program that sought to unite the base of the party into a program for Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
They said they were never invited to come and walk to show their support for the Vice President, rather, the invitation was for them to come and walk for the NPP.
Sounding so frustrated with the turn of events, members of the grassroots who call themselves ‘Kwahu Grassroots for the NPP’ were of the view that if care is not taken, future programs organized by the National Executives will suffer attendance as more supporters would not want to be associated with the Vice President.
The National Executive Committee of the NPP had advertised a Unity Walk for the Party in Kwahu on the 8th of April, 2023. This sense of walk for the entire party encouraged party supporters to take part in the activity only for some of the executives to create the impression that the walk was for the Vice President.
Meanwhile, a group calling itself ‘Concerned Members of the NPP’ has signaled their intention to take on the National Executives particularly Chairman Stephen Ntim, General Secretary Justin Kodua, and National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, as well as the Nasara Coordinator Aziz Futa for the reckless and unprofessional manner in which they are steering the affairs of the party.
The group says in the coming days the national executives are going to experience their wrath if they continue on the tangent of projecting the Vice President at the detriment of the party Unity.
