Two people have died in a gory accident on Bogoso-Obuasi Highway in the Western.
The accident involves two Sprinter buses moving opposite direction with each other on the road.
The registration numbers of both cars are:
Sprinter Mercedes Benz, AC 1474-22 and another Sprinter Mercedes Benz also with registration number WR 775-19.
The two male passengers died on the spot, while others sustained various degrees of injuries.
The bodies have been deposited at the Wassa Akropong Government hospital’s morgue for autopsy and preservation. The injured are also receiving medical treatment at the same health facility.
Peacefm senior reporter Teacher Korsah reported that, the two passenger Sprinter Buses were coming from Obuasi and Bogoso respectively.
At a point on the road at Wassa Japa Police Checkpoint in the Amenfi East Municipality off the Bogoso-Obuasi Highway, the two cars made wrong moves, leading to a heavy head-on-collision at the police checkpoint, killing the two instantly and injuring others.
Both cars have hugely destroyed.
The police have launched investigation into the accident.
