IWD: Eliminate barriers that impede release of full potential – Prof Naana Opoku Agyemang urges women
Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and the 2020 Running Mate to John Dramani Mahama, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, has urged women to do all they can to eliminate barriers that hinder the release of their full potentials.
“…there remain so much we must and can do to remove the barriers that continue to inhibit the release of our full potential to even more effectively impact our nation, community, family and self – these include teenage pregnancies, early marriages, gender based violence in institutions and workplaces; high drop out rates from educational and training facilities, lack of opportunity for advancement in many spheres” Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang said.
She said this in a Facebook post to mark International Women’s Day (IWD), which is being marked across the globe.
While saluting Ghanaian women for their invaluable legacies of sacrifice, tenacity, and hard work towards the development of Ghana, she urged them to continue to “uphold, uplift, transform and inspire”.
