Two persons escaped death in an accident involving a 55,500-litre gas truck, which fell and exploded in front of the new Jerusalem church between Sokoban and Ampayo road on 9th February 2023.
Assembly member of Sokoban electoral Hon Kwadwo Boateng said the incident occurred at about 11:00 a.m. while its content spilled and caught fire.
Hon Kwadwo Boateng told Silver FM’s Akwadaa Nyame that the vehicle somersault when the driver lost control and exploded instantly.
The driver and his mate who sustain some various degrees of injuries was rush to hospital for treatment.
The Ashanti regional public relations officer for Ghana national fire service DO3 Peter Adae said there was no casualty. “It happened at about 11 in the morning when a tanker was making a curve move but lost control and catch fire but we immediately went there to swiftly put the situation under control before further damage was to be done.
“We did not record any casualty at the spot but we heard that the driver and the mate who was in the vehicle was injured but was not seen around when we got here,” he said.
