How to calculate 2022 BECE Results Aggregate

The BECE results and the raw scores are crucial, but for the determination of a candidate’s school into which he or she is placed, the raw score will make all the difference.

To calculate a candidate’s BECE aggregate score, which is the sum of specific grades obtained per subject, follow this procedure.

Add all the individual aggregates obtained for the CORE Subjects. The core subjects are Mathematics, English Language, Social Studies, and Integrated Science.

Look through the remaining subjects and pick the best two subjects with the lowest grades

Add the total of the core subject aggregate and the two best other subject aggregates to obtain your aggregate score for the BECE

Let us look at a practical example of a student called KWEKU PRIMPONG using the sample result attached below.

STEP 1: From the results attached, the aggregate obtained by KWEKU PRIMPONG in the CORE subjects only is

Mathematics = 2

English Language = 1

Social Studies = 2

Integrated Science = 2

Sub-total [A] = 7

STEP 2: Aggregate obtained from two best from the other subjects.

The candidate scored 1 in three other subjects, hence we have to pick just two of them.

We pick French = 1

ICT = 1

Sub-Total of Other Subjects [B] = 2

Step 3: Add the two sub-totals from [A] and [B]

Student’s Aggregate Score is = 7 + 2

Student’s Aggregate Score = 9
