W/R: Mother and Son found dead at Ajoa
A young mother and her son hanged themselves at Ajoa in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region.
A young mother and her son allegedly committed suicide.
Nana Yaw, an eyewitness, is said to have encountered the lifeless bodies of the young mother and her son on the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
The woman was apprehended and hanged, while her son was also tied with rope and hanged in the same building.
The reason for the suicide, according to the eyewitness, is unknown.
“When we arrived at the building to work as laborers, we saw the lifeless bodies of the lady and her son.
“She could be in her early twenties, and her son is around four years old. We have no idea where they are from or who their family members are. “They’re still on the ropes,” Nana Yaw told 3news.com.
Assembly member Robert James Yankey of Ajoa said the woman and her son, who they believe is from a different community, were seen begging for money the day before the incident, only to be found dead the next day.
“From what I’ve heard, residents in the neighborhood saw the young lady begging for money with her son yesterday around 4:00 p.m. Nobody saw them again until we found them dead in the unfinished building this morning.
“We don’t know her in this community, so we believe she came from somewhere elseSEND,” Assemblyman Robert James Yankey of Ajoa said.
