JAMAN SOUTH & SUNYANI EAST CONSTITUENCIES
Jaman South & Sunyani East have been, over the years, the trailblazers in the NPP in what used to be the Brong Ahafo Region.
They were an emblem of the iconic elephant family in so many respects. Drobo & Sunyani were the yardstick for which many constituencies were judged.
The scene today is a far cry from what used to pertain to these bustling cities as far as the NPP was concerned.
For a while now, Jaman South & Sunyani East have been home to internal wrangling, petty scuffles and chaos.
Peace has been a scarce commodity for the zones. Sanity is a long way away due to this opprobrious and tumultuous squabbling amongst party leaders and supporters.
It is about time calm was made to dominate these worrying events. The leadership of the party must come in to restore peace lest the party sinks into oblivion in a few years to come.
For even Jaman South Constituency, the parliamentary seat is already with the NDC as far back as 2020 and if the National Party does not come and organize the elections from polling stations to the Constituency Executives, the NDC is likely to retain the seat meanwhile the seat is predominantly an NPP seat but for some selfish political elements NDC captured the seat in the 2020 general elections.
One cardinal thing I have learnt from my few years in this establishment is the fact that we shouldn’t be cozy with one another before we can work together.
Camps are inevitable phenomena in politics, but if they are allowed to mar the ultimate goal of capturing political power, it becomes very problematic.
I am appealing to the leadership of the NPP at the national level to, as a matter of urgency, see to the resolution of whatever impasse that has resulted in these battles.
The glamour that used to be associated with Jaman South & Sunyani East is fading away and if steps are not taken to restore peace and harmony, posterity would not be kind to us all!
Finally, the only solution to these problems is simple and that is ; the National Party must begin preparation to start the reorganisation of the polling stations, electoral areas and Constituency Elections in these two constituencies as there were no election in those constituencies because of mere machinations by some political elements.
