One egg on gob3 is Ghs3.00 why? deal with this act of kalabuleism – Prof. Gyampo
Ransford Gyampo chases high Kalabuley prices and market women in vain as government looks on unconcerned. Although prices of petroleum products have dropped and the cedi has appreciated, traders and private transport operators have refused to bring down their prices.
Ransford Gyampo who have been angered by the state of lawlessness and lack of will from the government to ensure traders do something about the high prices wrote on his Facebook page…
One egg on gob3 around La Bawaleshie moved from one cedi to three cedis.
The groundnut for soakings also moved from one cedi to two cedis.
A bag of sachet water sells at 10cedis.
They all say it’s because of the dollar. Whose duty is it to deal with with this act of kalabuleism?
The reality is that no one in government has been able to push for reductions apart from mere appeals to traders. Prices of goods and services have remain the same even with the appreciation of the cedi.
At lorry stations and in Trotros, mates, drivers and passengers are still fighting each other as most drivers and taxi operators are charging the old lorry fare at the blind side of the Transport unions and government.
Even for those Trotro operators who have attempted to reduce the lorry fare, they have not followed the 15.3% reduction directive.
Many have only taken off GHS1.00 or GHS.050P when they are to reduce the faire by not less than GHS1.50. The unions have also failed to print out the new fare as they do when the lorry fares go up.
