Angeline Wangui told her sister that she had been invited to a friend’s party at Kabaraka and promised to return the next morning.
Wangui’s body was later found in a sack dumped on Ngata Bridge along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway on Monday, December 12.
A postmortem conducted on her remains indicated she succumbed to suffocation and had been sexually assaulted.
A family in Gilgil has been thrown into mourning following the murder of their 21-year-old daughter Angeline Mary Wangui.
Speaking to Nation, the deceased’s father James Maina said he last spoke to her a day before she was murdered at around 8pm.
“She informed me she was preparing supper and that she was with her elder sister. She told me to greet her mother,” said Maina.
On that evening, Wangui told her sister that she had been invited to a friend’s party at Kabaraka and promised to return the next morning.
Her sister said the deceased was constantly communicating with someone on the phone who was asking her why she was delaying.
Found dead
After leaving for the said party, the family did not hear from her again until her body was found dumped by the roadside the following day.
Maina said they were informed of her death by their pastor and positively identified her body at Nakuru Mortuary.
“We proceeded to Nakuru Mortuary where we identified it. It was heartbreaking. Losing a child mysteriously is very hearting. She died a painful death. We just want justice,” he added.
The distressed father said Wangui had so much hope in life and had secured employment. He said she was planning to join the Kenya Medical Training Institute(KMTC) in April 2023.
“She was daddy’s girl and was always around me whenever she was at home. I don’t know why somebody would think of murdering my daughter. I shall miss her very much,” Maina added.

Sheila Murage killed
In other news, a woman was found dead after a house party in Kilimani, Nairobi.
Sheila Njeri Murage’s body was discovered by workers in a flower bed at Santonia Court on Saturday, July 17, 2020.
The victim had back injuries and blood was oozing from her nose. She was also holding a partially smoked marijuana ( cannabis) stick in her hand.
