Rampaging Islamic SHS students attack Asanteman SHS, pupils run for their lives
Many of the Asanteman school’s window screens were broken in an attack by Islamic SHS students that took place Monday afternoon.
Some male students from the Islamic SHS attacked the Asanteman SHS’ backyard through the State Boys’ school park for an unknown cause, and while the pupils were in class, they began throwing stones at the Asanteman SHS.
Despite being initially restrained by several mechanics in the school park, the belligerent kids persisted in their conduct, shattering numerous louver blades in the process.
According to a witness who spoke to GhanaWeb, students in the Asanteman SHS-affected classrooms had to leave to avoid getting hurt by the stones and the falling glasses.
No headmaster or leader of any of the schools has since commented on the issue.
A few days ago, FILASCONEWS.COM reported a clash between Asanteman SHS and the Adventist SHS which resulted in a shopkeeper ending up at the hospital.
According to some eyewitness accounts, the latest assault by Islamic SHS students on the Asanteman SHS may be an act of retaliation on the part of the Adventist Senior High School.
Others think there may already be some animosity between Asanteman SHS and Islamic SHS.
To aid them in their inquiries, the police had detained two pupils from the Islamic SHS as of the time this article was filed.
