UPDATE: Motor rider shooter, Prince Yoma has been remanded
27-year old, Prince Yoma has been remanded into custody by the Juaboso Magistrate Court today for shooting a motor rider at Ahibenso forest in the Western North Region.
The suspect has been charged for armed robbery.
The Police prosecutor, Chief Inspector Solomon Boateng prayed the court today to give the investigators enough time to gather their information.
The presiding judge, his lordship, Esq Samuel Entee adhered to the plea of the police prosecutor and subsequently adjourned the case to December 22, 2022.
Thus, the suspect, Prince Yoma, 27, has been remanded into custody for two(2) weeks and will be appeared before the court on Thursday December 22, 2022.
BACKGROUND
Man, 27, arrested for shooting motor rider he hired.
A 27-year-old young man, identified as Prince Yoma, has been arrested by the police at Sehwi for shooting a motorbike rider he boarded in a bush.
Information gathered revealed that the suspect hired the motorbike rider, Charles Bosompim from Sehwi Essase, a farming community in the Akontombra district of the Western North Region to transport him to Sehwi Ahibenso in the Bodi district.
The suspect is reported to have diverted their route through a lone area with the explanation of receiving the fare from a colleague working in a mining site along the road.
En-route, the suspect, Prince Yoma, pulled a locally manufactured pistol and shot at the neck of the motorbike rider unprovoked
Recounting the incident to newsmen, the victim said he fell flat and pretended he was dead while the suspect retrieved items of his interest including the motorbike.
The police were informed and subsequently laid an ambush to arrest the suspect.
