Twifo Hemang: Methodist Basic School closes down over frequent “shit bomb” in classrooms
Twifo Hemang Methodist Basic School in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District of the Central Region has been closed down by the school authorities following frequent defecation in the classrooms.
According to the students they came to school very well-dressed and prepared for academic activities only for them to meet human excreta splashed on tables, floors, and blackboards from JHS 1 to JHS 3 including the Headmaster’s office.
Speaking in an interview with Rich Fm and Angel Fm/TV Reporter Kwame Owusu Asante Shadrack, they disclosed the situation is badly affecting teaching and learning as they are in a revision week and are about to write their end-of-term exams.
According to them, this is 6th time they are encountering such an unfortunate incident. The unscrupulous persons behind the unfortunate incident started defecating the classrooms from the Primary blocks and have now extended to JHS blocks.
They called on the authorities to do something about it by providing security in the school.
Meanwhile, the Headteacher of the Schoo, Mr. George Kurentsir confirmed the incident and said they have relocated all the JHS pupils to a church building, adding that such behavior kills the good spirit of teachers.
He believed the faceless people behind today’s defecation did it in a bucket and splashed it in the classrooms through the top of the roofs and holes in the windows because the doors were tightly locked.
He said the school is sitting in the heart of the community and are furnished with street lights so he wonders how the people get the courage to go to the school to do that.
