Why are the so called neutrals silent on the appointment of known NPP activists as Deputy Electoral Commissioners – CFF-Ghana asks

VIDEO: “I enjoy having s3x with my son, he also love it” – Says Ghanaian woman

The dead silence of the so called neutrals including ‘highly respected voices’ on the appointment of known activists of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) especially Dr. Peter Appiahene is not just surprising but highly hypocritical of us as a people.

Is this Ghana? Where lies our conscience?

Once upon a time, an innocent and highly competent Madam Charlotte Osei, then Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) was cruelly hounded out of office on very frivolous allegations. Unknown persons petitioned the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to sack Madam Osei. As a well-calculated cooked agenda, NAADA hurriedly and pretentiously forwarded the said petition to the Chief Justice for investigations. Madam Charlotte Osei was sacked eventually and Jean Mensah brought in to do what most political watchers described as the ‘hatchet job’ for the powers that be.

During Charlotte Osei’s debacle, the so called moral voices were very loud in support of the call to sack her.

Where are those same voices today when known NPP activists have been appointed as referees (Members of the Commission) in the upcoming 2024 elections?

Where are the CSOs leaders, pressure groups, religious leaders, and traditional leaders who were so voiciferous in the days of Charlotte Osei?

Why are the so called neutrals not talking today as it matters most?

Alas! Meaning what is good for the goose is no more good for the gander?

Or have they been “muscled” in the words of Rev. Prof. Martey?

Truth be told, our democracy is on the line. We cannot break what we have toiled to build collectively. It’s critically important we protect our fledgling democracy jealously to avoid any volcanic eruption which could consume all of us.

To the few bold voices out there including Bishop Charles Agyin Asare, please, I am calling on you to add your voices to the on going CSOs Joint Campaign being led by Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-GHANA) to repose public confidence in the politically invaded Electoral Commission.

End.
