MP calls on Islamic University College to open new Campuses across Ghana

The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North constituency, Hon. Yuisf Jaja Issaka has called on the Islamic University College, Ghana to swiftly open a new campus in any parts of the Country in order to compete with the continuous rivalry in the Tertiary Education Sector in Ghana.

The Ayawaso North Member of Parliament was speaking at the Imam Ali (a.s) Birthday Anniversary on Saturday 4th Febraury,2023 in Nima-441 organised by the Imam Baqir Islamic Center, Shia Muslim subsidiary Organisation.

Imam Ali, whose birthday is an occasion to celebrate manhood, is respected by both Sunni and Shia Muslims for his honesty, belief, courage, knowledge, loyalty to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and devotion to Islam.

The program was grace by dignitaries including politicians to mark the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (a.s) who was born in Kaaba in Mecca, Arabia (now Saudi Arabia), in 599 AD to Abu Talib, an uncle of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Fatimah Bint Asad. He was the first man and the second person after the Prophet’s wife Khadijah to convert to Islam after Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received his divine revelation and declared Islam in public based on Allah’s order.

From 610 AD to 622 AD, Imam Ali spent much of his time providing for the needs of believers in Mecca, especially the poor, by distributing what he had among them and helping them with their daily chores.

Muslims dignitaries and famous Personalities in the program were the Ayawaso North Law Maker, Former Ambassorder of Ghana to Egypt and Head of Islamic Affairs in the office of the former President John Dramani Mahama Alhaji Umar Sanda (Lieutenant-Colonel), Flt Lieutenant Imam Mohammed Mochaorudeen Maiga Imam of the Ghana Airforce and the NPP National Nasara Cordinator Alhaji Aziz Haruna Futa.

Alhaji Yusif Jaja Issaka called on the Youth to take Islamic-Arabic and Circular Education very serious because it is now the order of the day. Hon. Alhaji Jaja further elaborate that the Shia Community in Ghana has being doing prodigiously well in the Educational Infrastructural Sector in the Country. He noted that the Islamic University College, Ghana alone has produced many graduates in numerous field of study in the country.

“I met most of them in many sectors in this country and they are doing innovatively well, they are humble and the knowledge they acquired from the institution is phenomenologically impacting on their lives and the nation as well” I wish and admonish that they furcate more branches and new campuses in other regions in this country to absorbed more students from our Senior Secondary Schools graduates” he said.

Obviously, the Islamic University College, Ghana since it establishment two decades ago has only one campus in Accra. It is also one of the oldest private Universities in Ghana and only Islamic University in the Country. The University recently started Education programs in Diploma and Degree programs in Early Childhood Education and many more.

The law maker before making his conclusion remarks called on the National Nasara Cordinator who was present at the occasion, Mr. Aziz Futa to utilize his position as a board member of the Ghana Immigration Service to find more jobs for the Muslim Youths especially in the area where their services are needed.
