Let’s Top BECE Rankings In Eastern Region – Michael Okyere Baafi To Candidates
The Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi has charged the Basic Education Certificate Examinations candidates in the constituency to be focused during the examinations.
He encouraged the students not to be afraid but determined and apply everything they’ve learnt through their cycles during the exams.
This he indicates it’s the sure way of passing the examinations.
He made this known on Tuesday, 11th October, 2022, when he visited some of the schools within his constituency to donate some examination materials to the students to assist them write the exams.
Speaking his last words of encouragement to the candidates, he charged the students in New Juaben South constituency to top the Eastern Region’s BECE rankings for the year.
Statistics.
The New Juaben South Municipal Education Public Relations Officer, Madam Matilda Botwey has revealed that, a total of 2440 candidates, made up of 1,139 males and 1,301 females, are expected to write the BECE.
She spoke earlier to Kaakyire Kwasi Afari that the candidates are from 77 schools with 49 from Public Schools and 28 are from Private Schools respectively.
They will write the examination at 8 centres throughout the municipality.
Promises.
Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi had earlier promised to sell his V8 to improve BECE performance in New Juaben South if need be.
This, according to the lawmaker, he’s concern about the poor performance of Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates in his constituency.
The MP who doubles as a deputy minister for Trade and Industries has also pledged to reward pupils who would excel in the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination in New Juaben South.
According to him, there is a special package for candidates who will obtain aggregate 6-9 including a trip to abroad.
MP’s Special Classes.
Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi also organized a free special classes for some 600 final-year students in basic schools in the constituency ahead of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination.
The programme according to the MP is estimated at about gh¢200,000 formed part of measures he has instituted to provide adequate preparation for the candidates in the four core subjects.
According to the MP, since education is his legacy he wants to leave for the teeming youth of New Juaben South constituency, he will do his best to provide quality education therefore he walked the talks.
Donations.
The member of Parliament on Tuesday 11, presented mathematical sets to over 2000 Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates writing this year’s exams in New Juaben South.
The gesture is intended to help improve the BECE result which for some time now had declined in the district.
Student’s Assurance.
Some of the BECE candidates thanked Michael Okyere Baafi for his continues support for education in the Municipality, adding that the MP had earlier organized Free Special Classes for them as part of his agenda to change the results this year.
They promised to learn hard and pass successfully to justify the investment the MP had made on them.
A female candidates who spoke to Afeema news said the items would help them in their examination since most of the parents were unable to purchase the items for their wards.
