2024 Elections: Avoid ‘moneycracy’ and vote for competent leaders — NDC Delegates told
Delegates of the National Democratic Congress have been urged to elect competent Constituency, Region and National executives who would devote their time and resources for the party in order to recapture political power in 2024.
Mr. Abass Amogobo, the Offinso South Constituency Secretary of the NDC explained with the media on Thursday, 6, October, 2022 that Ghanaians are ready to vote the NDC into power in order to rescue the country from economic hardships therefore, delegates urged to elect competent leaders to execute such rescue mission.
Abass Amogobo observed that the incumbent Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party government has lost its focus and thus needs to be replaced.
Speaking ahead of party’s Constituency elections, he has called on the delegates to stay loyal to the Party by voting the most appropriate people adding that, it’s unacceptable the use of money to lure delegates to vote without merit.
Abass Amogobo disclosed that vote buying or Elections infested with money in the electoral process breeds fertile grounds for bad leaders to find themselves in party work which makes it difficult for a every Democratic party to secure exhilaration of victory.
The Constituency Secretary who is hoping to retain his seat indicated that, the NDC should eschew from such practices and vote for leaders who are ready to put their lives on the line for the party and bring back power to the NDC since election 2024 is a must win for the umbrella family.
This, according to him, is one of the surest ways to prevent the New Patriotic Party from intimidating and manipulating any of the executives to rig the 2024 elections.
He cautioned any aspirant who is not ready for the job to step aside for competent party members to file for the various positions.
The Offinso South Constituency Secretary is optimistic that Ghanaians will vote for former President John Mahama and the NDC in 2024 elections because of his track record as a result-oriented leader.
According to Abass, while in office, he said, Mr Mahama embarked on a lot of developmental projects such as asphalted roads, hospitals, schools, creation of jobs to assist all Ghanaians irrespective of their status or region.
These projects, he noted, yielded results, therefore, Mr Mahama will be voted for to enable him continue the projects.
He said the NDC has done its homework well and is ready to go into a contractual relationship with Ghanaians for all citizens stand to gain.
