Ejisu: Aggrieved NPP Polling station executives vow to sponsor Independent Candidate
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) faithful in Ejisu are increasingly losing faith in the newly elected national executives over the delay on releasing the verdict on their polling station election petition.
It would be recalled that over 2000 polling station applicants in the Ejisu Constituency were disenfranchised owing to the fact that a section of the election committee led by Mr. Paul Yandoh allegedly went about at midnight and early dawn to some selected polling stations to declare faithful of the incumbent MP as winners at the blind side of over 2000 other applicants.
This led to series of demonstrations and press conferences by the aggrieved party faithful, a petition was thus presented to the party’s top hierarchy by the aggrieved party members.
Spokesperson for the aggrieved members, Kwaku Acheampong speaking to Silver news indicated that, their decision to sponsor an independent candidate is as a result from the NEC’s inability produce their verdict on the matter.
According to him, they are faithful to the party but due to someone’s own self interest they will sponsor any one to contest their Member of Parliament, Hon. John Kumah.
Kwaku Acheampong again stressed that, Ejisu Constituency has not seen any developmental projects since Hon. John Kumah became their MP.
