Drivers without a union should be prevented from the road – PROTOA Chairman
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA), Mr. Joseph Mensah has stated that, drivers who have refused to join transport union should be prevented from plying on the roads.
The PROTOA Chairman made this known on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, on a Kumasi based Silver FM’s morning show chaired by Nana Ampratwum.
According to Mr. Joseph Mensah, the action if checked will put a stop to what is locally called “waa-waa” means “fast-fast” and the “short-short” form of transporting passengers especially in the evening and early in the morning.
He said, authorities should implement such law to bar those non-union drivers from the roads.
“We should prevent drivers who do not have any union from the roads. This will halt the unacceptable and illegal way of loading”, Mr. Mensah stressed on the show monitored by Filasconews.com.
He was quick to adding that, the price of fuel at the pumps are too high and government should do something about it.
The PROTOA Chairman together with some panel members were discussing about the possible transport fares increment in the coming days on the show.
