NGO constructs health centre for Aboabo Kesse community

The fabulous woman Network, a Non governmental organization (NGO) with support from world Connect has constructed ultra-modern health center for Aboabo Kesse community in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.

The health center, which comprises of Out-Patient Department (OPD), male and female wards, store room, awaiting room and delivery Ward will save the people from dying.

The chief of Aboabo Kesse, Nana Osei Kwame II and his elders provided the land for the construction of the facility.

Mrs Ama Dankan, CEO of the Fabulous Woman Network together with the chief in the community, member of Parliament, District chief executive, Assembly member, rep from world Connect and the residents on the 5th March,2023 hand over the center to the people of Aboabo Kesse after the commissioning center.

Nana Osei Kwame II, the chief of Aboabo Kesse and Hon Amankwah Manu, member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma constituency commended the NGO for the initiative and described it as God sent, explaining that for several years he and his people had struggled to get the government to build a hospital for them had proved futile.

Nana Osei kwame II said when the people in the area fall sick they often had to travel some miles to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

He assured the NGO that he and his elders would give all the necessary support to provide medical equipment that would be needed in order to run the facility.

Hon Amankwah Manu, Member of Parliament for the area appealed to his people to get registered under the National Health Insurance Scheme, (NHIS) to enable them to access free, affordable and quality health care.

Mrs Ama Dankan in an interview with Silver FM’s Akwadaa Nyame said the realization of the dream of building the health center was through the efforts of Fabulous woman Network supported by world Connect.

Mrs Dankan said the project was to also foster closer friendship between the people of Aboabo Kesse and fabulous woman Network and also bring development to the Aboabo Kesse community.

Hon Isaac Adom, Assembly member of the area said the Aboabo Kesse community and its surrounding areas had a population of over 1,6700. He said the health centre alone in the area could not cater for the medical needs of the people.

He therefore welcomed the expansion of the facility to hospital standard in the near future which he said would help solve some emergency cases and urged the district assembly to take it into consideration.
