Govt releases 2023/2024 academic calendar
The 2023/24 academic calendar will begin on September 11, 2023 and ends on July 26 2024, the Ministry of Education has announced.
In a statement, the ministry stated that the calendar will have 42 weeks, with term one which ends on December 22, 2023 having 15 weeks.
Reads part of the statement: “The first term will open on September 11, 2023 and will close on December 22, 2023, followed by a two weeks holiday. The second term will open on January 8, 2024 and close on March 28, 2024 followed by a two weeks holiday while the third term will open on April 15, 2024, and close on July 26, 2024 followed by a seven weeks holiday.”
The ministry has since reminded all education institutions and the public that the school calendar is harmonised for all education institutions, both public and private at all levels, hence no institution is allowed to operate outside the calendar.
