National Cathedral Project Suspension: Apologise to Ghanaians for imposing personal promise on them – Apostle John
The National Cathedral project’s suspension has made opinions with reasons it cannot be built.
The public relations officer for the Ambassador for Christ Council who double as a social commentator, Apostle Erezora John, has said the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo should apologize to Ghanaians for ‘imposing’ a personal promise he made to God on the state and not able to function it.
The Apostle was making an opining in respect of the stalled National Cathedral project which had been suspended and described it as a ‘mistaken initiative’, hence the unable to build it.
Among other things, according to the Apostle, he is concerned about controversies that have dogged the project from the use of public finances of ₵142m from the auditor’s report, saying it a misplaced priority.
In an interview with Nsawkaw based Tain FM, with the host of Anopa Nkommo show, Appiah Kubi, the Apostle submitted: “This National Cathedral that he (Akufo-Addo) brought is a mistake and a misplaced priority, I am a Christian, but I don’t support the building of the cathedral”.
He stressed that it is the time for the president to say he is sorry for sniggering Ghanaians on the cathedral’s promise.
The National Cathedral Secretariat recently confirmed that the project has stalled since early this year citing lack of funds.
He reiterated that he will never encourage his church members to participate in contribution for the national cathedral.
