“Tell Asiedu Nketia That, The Madman Is On TV Again”- Bishop Ayensu Reacts

The Former Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church-Obuasi Diocese, Bishop Stephen Ayensu Bosomtwe has reacted to his purported mental ill-health.

The General Secretary of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Asiedu Nketia on Thursday, May 12, 2022, said on Accra based Okay FM that, the Former Bishop of the Obuasi Diocese is mentally unsound.

He alleged that, Bishop Ayensu was disqualified as a Chaplain General of the Ghana Police Service on health grounds.

According to General Mosquito as affectionately called, Mr. Stephen Ayensu who at the time was a police officer proved that, he was mentally challenged.

Noting that, the man of God wanted the late Prof John Fiifi Atta Mills to use his influence to secure him the position but, the late President declined.

This, according to Mr. Mosquito has generated hatred for the NDC by the Bishop Ayensu.

BUT, Reacting to the issue on KESSBEN FM/TV, program called AMANSAN TIE hosted by HON. AKUOKO KWARTENG, on Saturday, May 14, 2022, Bishop Stephen Ayensu Bosomtwe denied all the allegations.

When asked by the host, HON. AKUOKO about his mental issues, the firebrand Man of God cum Political commentator answered by saying:

“I want the people to tell Mr. Asiedu Nketia that, the mad man is on television”.

Which he explained that, if he is mad or mentally unfit, a whole TV station like KESSBEN TV will not invite him for interview.

According to him, he is mentally sound, and has not encountered any mental challenge in his life.

Speaking on the show monitored by Filasconews.com, Bishop Ayensu attributed the continuous attacks on him by the NDC members, including Asiedu Nketia, Ofosu Kwakye, Sammy Gyamfi and many others as a mere hatred due to his principles and philosophy as an honest man who hates liars.

On the allegation to seek favour from the late Mills, Bishop Ayensu told the host, Akuoko that, it never happened.

Though he said, he was qualified to hold the position but they denied him, and that did not bothered him, neither seeking influence from the late President.

All these conversations came to light after the Bishop, during the 25th Synod of the Obuasi Methodist Church, held at MT. Zion Methodist made a statement about Mr. Mahama on E-Levy.

Mr. Mahama has stated that, when he assumes office as president come 2024 general election, he will repeal the Controversial Electronic Levy.

However, the Bishop believes otherwise.

He reacted to Mr. John Dramani Mahama by saying, “you will not even come to repeal the e levy”.

To him, there is nothing wrong for a government to collecting tax for country’s Development, therefore, Ghanaians should support it.
