The Kyidomhene wants an end to the litigations amongst Chiefs in order to give way for peace and development in and speed up development in the area.
The Odikro and Kyidomhene of Mankessim Traditional Area in the Central Region, Nana Kwaa Annan (XI) has called on the various stools to ensure they follow tradition and be truthful in resolving chieftaincy disputes.
The Kyidomhene said, various rulers should follow the right process in selecting rightful hier to come to an end, the litigations over who succeeds.
Nana stated this during the celebration of AGUADOTO and launching of the YAMO Festival in Mankessim today.
He attributes the lack of peace, unity and underdevelopment in mankessim traditional area to numerous chieftaincy litigations going on.
” Mankessim the capital town of Borbor Fante should be rubbing shoulders with other traditional capital cities but lacking behind in terms of development due to numerous chieftaincy litigations” he said.
To him this has led to youth unemployment in the area and has turned some of our youth to alcohol and drug abusers.
He also advised the youth to stay away from alcohol, drugs and any illegal activities that will land them into trouble and rather be law abiding.
The theme for this year Yamo festival which will take place on the first week of September is; “BOUNCING BACK TOGETHER THROUGH QUALITY EDUCATION “.
