Basic Schools Closed Down Indefinitely(RELEASE)
Report has is that some schools have been closed down, per the document intercepted.
This was made known in a statement issued, 20th July, 2022.
In more details, the industrial strike action by the Senior Staff Association of universities of Ghana has compelled the management of the University shutdown its basic schools.
It would be recalled that the Senior Staff Association of universities of Ghana refused to call of the strike action after Organised Labour reached the 15% COLA agreement with government.
The Association noted that the leadership of Organised Labour betrayed them as they agreed that the COLA was going to be 20% and nothing else. They also established that they have other unfair salary issues they have to pursue despite the COLA.
Latest development from KNUST in a letter signed on behalf of the Registrar by Mrs Margaret Dzisi noted that following the declaration of industrial strike by the senior staff Association of universities of Ghana, management is writing on behalf of the registrar to inform the University community and the general public that the KNUST Basic Schools is being closed down effective 21st July 2022 until further notice.
