E/R: Ayensuano MP commissions boreholes for Communities in the Constituency
The Member of Parliament for the Ayensuano Constituency in the Eastern Region, Honourable Nana Yaw Teddy has commissioned Four (4) boreholes for four Communities in the constituency.
It was part of the MP’s move to supporting the people to having access to clean, safe and portable drinking water for their domestic and commercial usage.
The boreholes which were commissioned in communities such as Krabokese Amaadi, Sowatey New Town, Marfokrom and Yakoko Kwadwofosu form part of the MP’s initiative dubbed ‘Safe Water Campaign’.
The Safe Water Campaign by the MP is expected to providing over hundred borehole facilities for the communities within the Ayensuano constituency.
The project is also geared towards addressing the perennial water shortages in the surrounding communities and villages in the constituency.
The project which was initiated in collaboration with a South African based Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), NDC-SA, is to benefit the people especially within deprived communities in the Constituency.
The MP urged the chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities and villages to ensure proper use and maintenance of the facility as he promised to complete and deliver on other needs and amenities for the people.
The chiefs and people were very grateful to Honourable Nana Yaw Teddy for the facility and asked for more interventions from their Member of Parliament.
In attendance at the ceremony were the NDC-SA foundation base in South Africa who sponsored the projects, some party executives and sympathisers and among others.
At the ceremony, the NDC- SA Director in Charge of International Relation of the NGO- Hon Alex Segbefia Speaking with Tv xyz and power fm news reporter Emmanuel Adjetey added, that they are desirous to constructing more boreholes to supporting rural communities.
He said, it is ensure rural Communities have acess to cleaner and safe drinking water.
Some of the residents also commended the MP for his efforts to providing them with potable water.
They pledged to put the project into good use and maintain it well to last long.
