E/R-Update: Monkey Pox Cases In Birim North Now Negative- Health Director
The Acting Director of health for Birim North District, Mad. Mary Achiaa has disclosed the current state of their District with regards to the update on Monkey Pox.
According to Mad. Mary, they earlier suspected some cases of monkey pox but after testing, the results were negative so there is no record or case of monkey pox in the Birem North District.
She therefore adviced all Ghanaians to start Observing the protocols of Covid–19 because monkey pox is also a virus that can be contacted when one gets into contact with the fluid ie:sweat, saliva,etc of an infected person.
She also adviced those interested in game(bush meat) to ensure that it is well cooked before consumption.
“Cleanliness and personal hygiene should be a priority”,
She said, she concluded by advicing the media to also check the content and information they send to the general public because it can cause fear and panic to the ordinary Ghanaian.
