C/R: Angry Youth, Chiefs protest against renaming of school after Paramount Chief
Hundreds of youths in Agona Kwanyarko in Agona East District of central region and some Traditional Rulers have this morning protested against the Paramount chief Nana Ampem Darko for conniving with some staffs of ministry of education to Rename the Kwanyarko Secondary Technical school to Ampem Darko Secondary Technical school.
According to the aggrieved youth group, Agona Kwanyarko has nothing to write home about except Kwanyarko Secondary Technical school so they will never fold their arms for the school to be renamed after Nana Ampem Darko .
Nana Ampem Darko has left no legacy for school authorities to rename a major school after him.
The Abusuapanyin of the Area who doubles as a Board member of the Kwanyarko Secondary Technical school Abusuapanyin Ebo Essando who spoke with Fadda Romeo bemoaned over the attempt by the Omanhene to change the name of the school to Nana Ampem Darko Secondary Technical school which he the Omanhene has not informed any of the traditional authorities in Agona Kwanyarko.
The name of the school shall forever remain Kwanyarko Secondary Technical school because, the school needs additional infrastructure such as Physics laboratory, Hostel, additional classroom block units and others but not Renaming, he disagreed.
Moreover, some sub chiefs in Agona Kwanyarko also registered their disapproval of the renaming the school to Ampem Darko Secondary Technical school.
