Father And Daughter(12) Killed In Car Crash, One Other In Critical Condition
A 10-year-old girl is in a critical condition in hospital after her father and sister (12) died in an accident in Uvongo this morning.
A man and his 12-year-old daughter were killed in an accident on the R620 in Uvongo, KwaZulu-Natal, earlier today.
A second daughter, aged 10, is in critical condition, having been rushed to hospital by Netcare 911 medics. Paramedics said that despite their best efforts to save the father and 12-year-old, they died on the scene.

Craig Botha of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service said that when emergency services arrived they found that the driver had lost control of the vehicle, left the road and collided with a tree.
Botha said paramedics stabilised the patients and, together with Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue services, worked to free them using specialised vehicle rescue equipment.
Paramedics assessed the scene and found that, initially, the three patients had sustained critical injuries.
The father and his daughter were entrapped in the vehicle.
Specialised equipment was used to free two of the patients from the vehicle.
Botha said the father and older daughter “deteriorated during the extrication and, despite advanced life support interventions, were declared dead on scene”.
The 10-year-old was transported by Netcare 911 to the hospital for treatment.
