Farmers Cry Bitterly Over High Cost Of Agro Chemicals And Fertilizers On The Market

Farmers in Ejura Sekyedumase Municipality are conplaining bitterly of high increment of agro chemicals and fertilizers prices in the country.

According to the farmers, last year price of agro chemicals like weedicides were Ghc12 as compared to this year is Ghc45, and due to high prices of agro chemicals Ejura farmers are finding it difficult to farm this year.

Farmers said, Ejura Sekyedumase is the food basket of Ghana, so they are pleading to the governmen to reduce prices of agro chemicals and fertilizezes to make it easy for them to farm.

Later, some of the input dealers confirmed the high prices of agro chemicals and made it clear that is due to the broke economy and also plead to the minister of food and agriculture Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto to support farmers most especially farmers in Ejura Sekyedumase.
