At least, two armed men have been gunned down by the Ashanti Regional Anti Robbery Squad.
The suspects, yet to be identified by the police, are suspected armed robbers who stormed a community called Koneyaw, in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region and robbed some gold dealers.
Returning from their operation, between Koneyaw And Abodom, all in the Bekwai Municipality, they had an encounter with the Regional Police Anti Robbery Squad.
The suspects started firing at the law enforcers.
However, the officers retaliated, killing two of the suspects.
A Resident and Eyewitness, Antwi Isaac who was at the scene today revealed on a Kumasi Based station, Silver FM’s morning show dubbed omanbapa hosted by Nana Ampratwum monitored by filasconews that, the community is a mining prone area hence, rampant robbery incidents.
He said the remains of the deceased have been conveyed by the police to the morgue whiles investigation ongoing.
