Agenda 111 project: Gov’t has forcibly taken our lands without Compensation- Aggrieved Farmers lament.
Some Aggrieved farmers including a 90 year old woman, Adwoa Kodie at Ofoase Ayirebi of Akyemansa District in the Eastern region are wooing bitterly as government has forcibly taken their lands for Agenda 111 projects destroying coacoa, plantains and other farm produce without negotiations or whatsoever.
According to them,the District chief executive of Akyemansa District Hon.Paul Asamoah and Member of parliament Hon.Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah has taking over their thirty acres of cocoa farm for Agenda 111 projects without any compensation.
The aggrieved farmers, in an exclusive interview with Kaakyire Akwasi Donkor said, they are much worried over the decision by the Member of parliament (MP) and District Chief executive.(DCE)
According to them, they are not resisting any attempt by the government to establish a hospital in the community but are expecting some crop compensations on the Land.
President Akuffo Addo has envisioned that, Agenda 111 will play a critical role in making Ghana the centre of excellence for medical care in West Africa by 2030.
The Acting “Kotoku Kyidomhene and Akyem Bontodiasehene” Obrempong Adarkwah Gyamirah reacted that, Government has not been fair to the farmers in the community and must pay compensation to them.
