World No Tobacco Day: FDA warns general public to desist from smoking

World No Tobacco Day is mark to create awareness about the hazards of Tobacco and the need to avoid its usage.

It is also use to educate the people on tobacco.

The Food and Drugs Authority in the Ashanti Region has cautioned the general public to as a matter of urgency desist from the harmful habit, smoking.

FDA today, May 31, 2022, joined the world to celebrate ‘World No Tobacco Day’ in the Ashanti Region.

As part of the efforts to discourage the use of Tobacco amongst Ghanaian citizens, the Authority toured some centers such as radio stations, lorry parks, market centers and many other places to educate the people on the need to desist from the use of Tobacco.

Speaking on a Kumasi Based Silver FM’s morning show this morning and monitored by Filasconews.com, regulatory officers from FDA in the Region advised the citizenry to take good care of their health by avoiding the use of Tobacco in the form of smoking.

Two officers, Mr. Kwasi Obeng, Senior Regulatory Officer and Ms. Olive Addo, Pharmacist and regulatory officer from FDA-Ashanti Region revealed on the show hosted by Nana Kwabena Ampratwum that, smoking kills huge number of humans in the world.

Adding that, Ghana is not excluded hence warning the people to be weary of the health and stop smoking.
