Passerby mistakenly shot at Apradang
AChinese man whose name was given as Afei is in the grips of the Police for mistakenly shooting an eight years old boy Kwasi Mireku at Kwaku Apradang in the Eastern Region.
According to a report by Accra-based Utv, the Chinese man was cleaning his gun as he always does.
But the gun was triggered and shot at a Kwasi Mireku who was walking close by to his house.
His mother was informed and the boy was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital where he is currently battling for his life.
The youth of the community were infuriated by this and decided to torch the house of the Chinese.
However, the Police moved in swiftly to ensure that the youth were controlled and arrested the Chinese man.
The Nkawkaw Police Divisional Commander Superintendent Victor Kwakye assured the residents that the Police will make the laws work and ensure that justice is served.
He drummed home the need for the youth to avoid attacks on the Chinese indicating that it’s unlawful to do that.
On her part, the mother of Kwasi Mireku expressed shock at the incident considering the relations that exist between her and the Chinese.
“They play with the kids all the time and so we have a very good relationship so I don’t know what happened and triggered him to shoot my son,” she told Utv.
