- According to the PROTOA drivers, they are not accountant to all the road accidents.
- But admitted that, they are the cause of some of the road Carnages.
The Ashanti Regional Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA) have pushed blame saying their drivers are not agents of road accidents.
The Association is complaining bitterly that, the percepty in the public domain is that, PROTOA drivers contribute massively to the Indiscipline and accidents on roads.
It’s said the public have tagged PROTOA drivers as careless drivers and therefore, they are the causative agents of road carnages.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Association, Mr. Joseph Mensah in an interview with the press on Wednesday, November 10,2021 admitted to some of the accidents caused by their members but said majority of them are not from them.
Mr Joseph Mensah attributed the cause of the road accidents to the poor road networks in the country especially pot holes on our highways, unfunctional traffic lights , lack of speed humps and unlawful or poor erection of some humps on roads.
In all, the Regional PROTOA chairman entreated drivers to drive with care as Christmas approaches and also charged security agencies on roads to ensure and intsill discipline into drivers in order to help prevent reckless accidents.
He finally appealed to the government through the Road and Highways Minister and the Transport sector to do their part to ensure our lanes beome better.
