This appointment is her second under Akufo-Addo’s government as in 2017 when the NPP came to power, she was strategically appointed as the Head of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) of the same institution which was only a preparation for her present elevation to number two in the top bank.

Her new appointment letter sighted by MyNewsGh.com and signed by Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare and dated 4th January 2022 said she is being appointed in line with Act 911 of the 2016 Ghana Export and Import Bank Act passed under the erstwhile John Mahama administration which created the bank as a special purpose vehicle to support the exports and import value chain.

While various sources believe her husband was instrumental in the opening of the doors of power for her, on her own merit she has more than 15 years’ experience working within the Telecom, media and banking sector having worked with UMB, MTN, Access Bank and Fidelity Bank.
Rosemary Archer hails from the Western Region. She has over 20 years experience in 3 key industries including media and telecoms (working for Scancom Ghana) but mostly in banking.
