Some drivers within the Kumasi Metropolis have threatened to boycott the impending the 2024 general election over inadequate fuel price reduction by the government.
According to the angry drivers, the 15p decrease at GOIL is not enough for them.
Fuel price at GOIL on Tuesday, December 7, reduced by 15p following a directive by the government.
After the reduction on Tuesday, industry players within the Ghana Private Roads Transport Union (GPRTU) have kicked against the amount.
Executive member of GPRTU, Mr. Eric Asirifi on Wednesday speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver FM said, they were expecting a GH¢3 to GH¢4 decrease rather than the 15p announced by GOIL.
But the drivers in an interview with Akosua Frimpomaa on Thursday, December 9,2021 said, they are highly disappointed in the government.
They disclosed that, both the two giants political parties have failed the country especially commercial transport operators in terms petroleum products managem.
“We’ve realised that, both NPP and NDC are the same, none can help us therefore 2024, we’ll not vote again”, section of the drivers angrily fumed during the interview.
