The 2019 Best Farmer at Assin Fosu in the Assin Central Municipality of the Central Region, Mr. Agoswin Abdulai has praised the Ghana Cocoa Board for being good to farmers in the area.
He said, the hand pollination and the prunning introduced by COCOBOD have been a great game changer. In an interview with Osagyefo Kwame Ola of Nkwa FM during this year’s National Farmers Day Celebration in the area, he said they used to climb cocoa trees to carry out pruning but they now have machines for such purposes.
He added that, the rumour that Cocobod refused to share farm input to farmers in Assin is false and baseless adding that, Cocobod has provided them with all the neccessary chemicals and also mass spray was carried out succesfully this year.
