Traders at Abuakwa-Dadease in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal in the Ashanti Region have gone wild at their Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Michael Amoah Awuku and the Assembly man for that area, Kwaku Agyapong, for serving them notice of relocation.

On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, traders at Abuakwa-Dadease were served notice by the Municipal Assembly authorities that they will in no time be relocated to a refuse dump and public toilet site to pave way for redevelopment of a story building with over ten (10) store rooms in the market after which they will be brought back to their former place.

According to the traders, they will never move an inch to any new place since they could sense no loyalty or truth in whatever the MCE and his people told them, referring that Mr. Awuku has done same to others traders and now those traders couldn’t get their store rooms or never had the assess to the new market at Abuakwa new market.

“Mr. Amoah Awuku should not try to embark on that exercise because we will not allow him. But should he embark on it we will face him boot-for-boot and even if blood needs to be shed, it happen. If that is what he wants to see”. The angry traders said.

These angry traders said in an interview with Osofoba Kwame Afrifah at a presser at Abuakwa-Dadease market.

They also pleaded with President Akufo-Addo and the Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah to “talk sence” into the head of the MCE and the other authorities to stop that exercise or face the wrath of the traders and youth of that area.

On the part of the Abuakwa-Dadease traditional leaders, Nana Anthony Ansu who is a member of the traditional leaders confirmed to Atinka News that they have not given that dump and toilet site to any government official or any developer that they have to relocate traders there.

“But should this MCE Awuku and his people try this, they will then face the wrath of the traditional leaders.
