The Upper Denkyira West District Police Commander, ASP Ernest Agyekum has confirmed the death of three Small Scale Miners in a robbery incident that occurred on Friday, November 12, 2021 around 8pm at Adaboi in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region.
ASP Agyekum in an interview with filasconews today, November 13, 2021 confirmed the incident saying the miners were returning from their site yesterday and was attacked by the robbers leading to the death of three of the miners with several of them (miners) severely injured.
ASP Ernest Agyekum explained that, “police received the disturbing news and proceeded to the scene. When we reached there, two persons were already killed. We took the injured to the Dunkwa On-Offin Government hospital for treatment. We later returned to the scene and also found another dead body making the total of the deceaseds three”.
One person amongst the injured have been transfered from Dunkwa On-Offin Government hospital to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) due to the extent of his injury.
Investion has commended by the police but they are yet to make arrest.
