2021/22 Ghana Premier League: Gold Stars match winner Kingsford Boafo named MoTM against Chelsea
Bibiani Gold Stars winger Kingsford Boafo was named Man of the Match in the victory over Berekum Chelsea on match day one of the Ghana Premier League.
The forward netted the only goal as Gold Stars secured a historic victory at the Dun’s Park on Sunday.
Boafo was in devastating for Gold Stars, causing problems to the defence of the Berekum Chelsea.
At a charged Dun’s park on Sunday afternoon, the winger’s 53rd minute strike separated the two sides.
Bibiani Gold Stars started the game slowly at their own backyard and looked inexperienced in the opening minutes, but kept their composure as they matched the Blues.

Chelsea created a couple of decent chances but could not break the deadlock.
Gold Stars came close a few times in the first half but both clubs kept their discipline to go into the break with the game goalless.
After the break, the host took control of the game, and should have taken the lead earlier.
Eight minutes into the second half, Kingsford Boadu broke the deadlock with a fine strike to secure all three points for the newcomesrs.
Berekum Chelsea chased an equalizer but Bibiani made two important changes as they subdued their opponents.
The Miners were the only newcomers to win their opening game of the new season, with Accra Lions and RTU all held at home.
